Normally for Teacher Appreciation week I would send in a treat everyday for my kids teachers. Well, that didn't happen this year. Unfortunately, we had two deaths in the family this week and so my week didn't go as planned. In fact, I had to make 200 funeral programs in three days for one of the funerals. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to post one of programs that I made. The only thing I had time to make were these "secret stash" candy jars. I do realize that this is a very popular treat to make, but it was all I had time for. I plan to make it up to them with their end of year gift.
I like to personalize each jar with the teacher's name but I didn't have enough time to do that. I added drops of black enamel accents for a more finished look.
Between two kids we had to make 24 jars!
Some jars had M&Ms and some had Skittles.
We are always trying to come up with new and unique ideas to show our teachers how much we appreciate them. Although I had no choice, I found out that the teachers loved this old tried and true idea for a treat!
Lesson learned: No need for the added pressure, just remembering your teachers makes them super happy!
This is so nice. I'm sorry about the recent deaths in the family. That's horrible God bless!

ReplyDeleteHi Arlene, thank you for your lovely comments on my blog! I came over again to visit again, and I saw this candy jar idea. I love it!!!! I work in a school as the Librarian, and I also have 2 children in it. SO I too am always looking for a good, easy idea for their teachers and my coworkers. You are right. Teachers love chocolate, and they pretty much love anything you do for them. A grateful bunch! I am very sorry for your losses, and I wish you and yours peace.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your family losses. I think these jars are adorable and agree that it is so nice just to show any appreciation to the teachers. It was very "sweet" of you!
