16 Amazing Years!

WOW...time does go by fast when you're having fun.  Happy Anniversary Honey!

Here is the card that I made for my husband for our anniversary.  I used this week's sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches as my inspiration.

Sentiment is from PTI's Big Birthday Wishes.

Here is a photo of the sketch challenge:

XOXO Valentine's Card

Valentine's Day is not a big deal for me...our wedding anniversary is three days apart and I prefer to celebrate that.  I constantly beg my husband not to do anything for Valentine's Day but somehow he never listens!  I woke up to a bouquet of white roses (don't like red), balloons, two tulip plants, chocolate and cards galore!  He got the kids balloons, cards and chocolate as well.  Yikes...what did I have for him...nothing!!!  My only plan was to make a nice dinner at home, which I did!  :)

SO, I quickly made this super simple card for him and two others for the kids.

Sentiments are from a Close to my Heart stamp set which I believe is called Sentiments.

Card with glitter and bow went to my daughter and the other with glossy accent went to my son. Our kids are always texting "i heart u" so I thought they could relate to this!  :)

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day! :)

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Here is birthday card that I made for my nephew who turns 12 today.  At such a young age, Ryan has already completed several triathlons so I thought this card would be perfect for him.  Happy Birthday Ryan, we are very proud of you!  :)

Edges are distressed for a more "rough & tough" look!  Sentiment is from PTI, Big Birthday Wishes and bicycle stamp is from Hero Arts.

PL 2012 Title Page

Here is my PL title page for 2012.  I know...I'm a bit behind with my Project Life post but I am not stressing over it.  :)  I am doing a monthly review just like I did for 2011, so that in itself is comforting...can't do a review till the month is over, right!  :)  This page was finished a long time ago, I just couldn't find the time to photograph and post it.

This year I chose the Clementine Edition and I am truly loving the colors and design.

My PL style is very simple and as you can see my title page reflects that.  The three pics on the right is actually our Happy New Year's card that was sent out to family and friends at the end of 2011.  It was the perfect size for this page protector and the wording was perfect for my title page.

Simply added a button to this card and stamped two hearts.

"Makes me happy" is from my daughter's SMASH sticker collection.

I am hoping to post January 2012 pages soon.  As promised in my last PL post, I will post February 2011 pages as well.  :)

JGNC16 Birthday Memories

Jay Gee's Nook has a new photo inspiration challenge with lots of fun, bright and vibrant colors!  Here is the birthday card that I created using some of the colors from this photo.

DP is from MME Lime Twist, Fly a Kite collection and card base is PTI cardstock.  Sentiment was a tag from the same MME collection which I cut down to make smaller for this card.

Photo inspiration:

MIM Shaker Card

It's been years since I made a shaker card so I decided to play along with this week's PaperTrey Ink MIM challenge.  For my card, I used Jen's January SFYTT from iheart2stamp.  I tried to keep this card simple while keeping the focus on the shaker.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used the All Booked Up die from PTI for my shaker which I embossed with By the Numbers impression plate also by PTI.  Sentiment is from My Creative Time.

Project Life - January

So let's talk Project Life!  Warning...this is a long post and photo heavy!

Last year I posted my title page for 2011 but never got a chance to post any of my pages.  Like I said before, life just got in the way of my hobbies! :)  If you read my original post you will see my process and how I use Project Life to capture our story.  This year I've decided to post those 2011 pages each month respectively, and then after completing my 2012 pages for that same month I will post them as well.  Hope that makes sense. :)

So here are my pages for January 2011:

Title page (see original post here)

First page starts with New Year's Eve.  Photo sleeve on right side is from We R Memory Keepers.

I used two different Ali Edwards journals on these pages along with some stamping.

Definitely need more practice taking photos of my pages in the photo sleeves!  :)  Not sure why these are so blurry...

I placed a picture of the cards that I made during the month for special occasions in a 6x6 page protector.

Back side of the previous birthday card.

Bottom left - I used two journal cards in this 4x6 slot and added a photo to go along with the story of that day.

Two page spread on celebrating a few January birthdays along with another birthday card.

Used an overlay from Ali Edwards for the top left photo.  I love her overlays! :)

Included the 8x10 photo from my son's team photo shoot.

One of the reasons why I love Project Life...I am able to incorporate full layouts in my album.  Here is an 8x8 layout of me cooking with the girls! :)

Left - back side of the previous 8x8 layout. I used a Cathy Zielske Story Guide layout to interview my daughter.

WOW...that was a lot!  Thanks for stopping by.  :)
