Thinking of You Card

This card was made for a 16 year old young man who is battling cancer.  As a mother of two young kids, I was overwhelmed with a lot of emotions while making this card.  This young man is a gem, has the most amazing personality, always has a smile on his face, the most compassionate, strongest, respectful, considerate 16 year old you will ever meet.  It has been a blessing for my family to know him.

Although this was a simple card to make, it actually took me a while to put it together.  I finally realized that I would pour my heart out in words on the inside, rather than trying to come up with the perfect design on the outside.

Stamped and embossed the sentiment, butterflies are from two of Martha Stewart's butterfly punches (Monarch and Royal butterfly) and I added pop dots to the butterflies for added dimension.  I also used pop dots for the sentiment.

Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are usually the hardest cards for me to make.  I usually don't keep any on hand and feel pressured whenever I need to make one...creativity just doesn't flow after I receive bad news.

I try to use very little black or dark colors on these type of cards.  I also try not to make them too vibrant or too dreary.  This is a card I made for my dear friend Sandra who recently lost her grandmother.

Embossed the sentiment and used Ranger's Enamel Accents in white to enhance the white dots that were already printed on the patterned paper.

Used black pop dots to adhere the patterned paper to the card base.

Anniversary Card

I am in love with the idea of using a doily as an embellishment on a card.  I think it adds a very delicate and elegant touch to any craft item.  Whomever came up with this idea is brilliant! :)

Here is a simple anniversary card using a white doily.  Leaves are rub-ons from K&Company Amy Butler collection and so are the gems (AB Lotus Words & Butterflies).  I just had to add that extra "bling".

Happy Anniversay

Baby Shower Card

This baby card was inspired by Live Love and Scrap.  I didn't have the cartridge that was originally used so I improvised with the Create a Critter Cartridge.  I welded two purses together and then cut out an additional purse for the pocket on the front and the handle.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, Signature Greetings.  The baby bottle was cut out from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge and the teddy bear and duck were both cut from the Create a Critter Cartridge.  I added Glossy Accents to the duck to give it a raised, glossy look.

I am loving shape cards and trying to find ways to make more...

Birthday Card for a Boy

This is a quick, simple and very easy birthday card for a boy.  I made this card for Ajay's friend who loves to play soccer.  I used the Sports Mania cartridge for the soccer ball and added some stitching with white gel pen.  Stamp set is from Stampendous, Party Invite.

Happy Birthday Jayden!
