Ice Cream Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card that I made for my daughter's friend, Amanda. She had her birthday party at Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor, so I took the opportunity to make another shaped card! :)

Card base was cut using the Sweet Treats cartridge and sentiment is from Priceless Love Word Puzzle from Close to my Heart.

An ice cream card is not complete without glossy accents!  Used pop dots for the top layer and then added glossy accents for a "melting" effect!  Used D'vine Swirl embossing folder for the bottom layer.

Such a simple card but it took me longer to make than expected. Wasn't sure how I felt about it but I guess it turned out ok.  Birthday girl (and her friends) really loved it!

I will enter this card to the following challenges:
  • Perfect timing with this card, I will also use it for the Shape Card Challenge over at My Craft Spot.  So stop by and check out all the other talented bloggers! :)
  • Thanks June for your encouragement to link this card to the summer challenge over at Betty Bee's Buzz.  Please check out this blog to see what other bloggers are reminded of when they think of summer!

Mother's Day Card

Here is the card that I made for my mom for Mother's Day.  I had very little time left to make this card after making the programs for my Uncle's funeral.  Super simple card...

Patterned papers are from The Mango Frost stack from DCWV.  Both are glittered papers which is hard to tell in this photograph.  Pink paper is also from that collection however not glittered.

Sentiment stamped on Kraft cardstock is from Studio g.

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! :)

Teacher Appreciation Treat

Normally for Teacher Appreciation week I would send in a treat everyday for my kids teachers.  Well, that didn't happen this year. Unfortunately, we had two deaths in the family this week and so my week didn't go as planned.  In fact, I had to make 200 funeral programs in three days for one of the funerals.  Hopefully, I'll get a chance to post one of programs that I made.  The only thing I had time to make were these "secret stash" candy jars.  I do realize that this is a very popular treat to make, but it was all I had time for.  I plan to make it up to them with their end of year gift.

I like to personalize each jar with the teacher's name but I didn't have enough time to do that.  I added drops of  black enamel accents for a more finished look.

Between two kids we had to make 24 jars!

Some jars had M&Ms and some had Skittles.

We are always trying to come up with new and unique ideas to show our teachers how much we appreciate them.  Although I had no choice, I found out that the teachers loved this old tried and true idea for a treat!

Lesson learned:  No need for the added pressure, just remembering your teachers makes them super happy!

Three New Awards

In the midst of a crazy week, I received three new awards!  WOW, thank you ladies for thinking of me and passing these on to me.  They definitely brought a smile to my face during a rough week.  Please stop by these wonderful ladies' blogs to see their creative work!

Instead of choosing just a few people to pass these on to, I would like to pass all three on to all my followers.  You are all very creative and are truly deserving of these awards!
