Cherry on Top Award

A very talented and inspirational blogger, Kim Singdahlsen from Joyful Creations with Kim passed on the Cherry on Top Award to me.  Thank you Kim for thinking of me!

There are five things that I have to do for this award:
  1. Thank the person that passed this award on to you.
  2. Post this award on my blog.
  3. List three things that I love about myself.  Uh oh...
  4. Post a favorite picture.
  5. Pass this award on to five people.
Three things I love about myself are...hmmm...let's see;
  1. I love that I am a very fair person.
  2. I am very conscientious...sometimes conscientious to a fault.
  3. I always treat people with respect.
This is one of my all time favorite family picture:
My favorite types of photos are candid shots.  This is one of my very favorite family photo and I love that we are not looking at the camera.  :)

This is always hard for me since you are all so talented, not to mention very inspirational to me.  I would like to pass this on to the following five bloggers:

Thank You Card for a Friend

Here is a thank you card that I made for a dear friend of mine, Elyse. Sometimes life gets so busy that you forget to thank your close friends for the little things they do for you.  Her friendship is a blessing to me and this card is just a simple way to show her how much I appreciate her.

Die cut (Mat Stack 3) and sentiment (All Booked Up) are from PTI.  Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and is popped up to give the stamp a recessed look.

Thank you Elyse for always being there for me!   :)

Blog Awards!

OK, I admit...I am terrible at picking up these awards.  Thank you to all the wonderful and talented ladies for thinking about me and passing these awards on to me.  Your blogs are very inspirational and your kind words are very encouraging.  Thank you ladies.  :)  Here are the awards that I received and a link to the talented ladies that passed them on...

Lisa from A Mermaid's Craft,  Carissa from Happily Ever Paper Crafter and Tiffany from Sparkled Memories passed on The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award on to me.

Mary from Mary's Crafty Scraps passed on the Cricut-tastic Award.

I received the Stylish Blogger Award from Kirsten at Kris' Craft Coop.

Alley from Alley Cat's Corner passed on the Versatile Blogger Award.

Judy from Crafty JAR passed on A Thing of Beauty Award.

OK, random things about me...hmmm, let's see:
  1. I absolutely love and adore children.
  2. I love to capture the everyday moments of our lives.
  3. I love to read but seldom find time to do so.
  4. Family time is extremely important to me.
  5. I truly have a hard time dealing with my kids growing up so fast.
  6. I am an organizational freak...simply cannot think if I'm not organized.
Listing things about me is hard but having to choose among so many talented bloggers is much harder.  I will pass these awards on to the followers listed below.  Here are the links to their blogs...

Happy Birthday Ajay!

WOW, my son turns 11 today!  Where did the time go?  Happy Birthday to the most amazing little boy that I know.  You bring so much joy to our lives and our wish for you is to continue to grow into a humble, fair and respectful young man, just like you are today.  We love you very much...to the moon and back!  :)

Here is the card that I made for him.  He is in love with anything space related, so I thought this would bring a smile to his face!

I used October Afternoon's Rocket Age paper collection and added some scrabble fonts for the sentiment!  All stickers and chipboards are from the Rocket Age collection.

I wanted to emphasize his age so I added this tag to the card...Expedition Number 11.

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Here is a birthday card that I made for a super sweet and adorable little girl who is celebrating her 10th birthday!  She is so proud of being a "double-digit" now!  :)  Happy Birthday Jess!

Color Block is the new challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays so here is my take on this challenge.  Clean and Simple...

Patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye, Fly a Kite collection and sentiment is from PTI - Big Birthday Wishes.

Father's Day Card - Abey

Here is the Father's Day card that I made for my husband!  He is an amazing father to our two children and we are truly blessed to have him in our lives.  His love for us radiates in everything he does and we cannot imagine life without him.  Thank you honey, for loving us the way you do!  :)

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch 195 for my card.  Here is a picture of the sketch.

Here is the card that I came up with:
Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye, Out of the Blue collection and sentiment is from Studio G.

This is the second card that I am linking up to the Scrappin with Cricut Father's Day link up party.  Please stop by and see all the other talented work on display!

Father's Day Card - Dad

Here is a card that I made for my dad for Father's Day.  This was super easy to make and came together quickly for me.  I had this tag for probably over 5 years and I was very determined to use it!  It's always a great feeling when you use up your stash! :)

Patterned papers are from BasicGrey (Kraft and Manila collection) and tag is from EK Success.

We are all busy making Father's Day cards and with so many challenges going on, I thought I would enter this card into the following:

If you get a chance please stop by these blogs to check out other talented bloggers and while you are there enter your cards as well.

Card Request for Elizabeth

Here is a card that I made for an 8 year old little girl that was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Raquel at Raquel's Design left a comment on one of my post requesting cards for this little girl.  I can't imagine what this girl's family is going through but my thoughts and prayers are with them.  If you have a chance please take the time to send this little girl a card...imagine the smile that it'll bring to her face.

I used Sketch 119 from Card Patterns for my inspiration.  Here is a picture of the sketch:

Patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist, Happy Go Lucky collection.  Butterfly is from K&C. and I added the extra bling on the sides to play along with the sketch.

To compliment the glitter on the butterfly, I added glitter to each flower on the patterned paper.

Picture doesn't do justice to this card, but the colors are vibrant and they truly pop.  Please take the time to bring a smile to this little girl's face by sending her a card.

Happy Birthday Neena!

Here is a birthday card that I made for my beautiful and adorable niece who is celebrating her 10th birthday!  She is one of the most amazing and fun loving kids you will ever meet! :)

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch 194 for my card.  Here is a picture of the sketch.

This is my take on the sketch which has very slight deviations.  The sentiment is from PTI - Big Birthday Wishes.

Part of her gift is a scrapbook album that documents the last 10 years of her life!  Here you see the cover page along with the card.  I did a similar album for her big sister when she turned 10 and Neena was so in love with it, so I decided to surprise her with one of her own!

Happy Birthday Niku

Here is a birthday card that I made for a super sweet 3 year old little boy.  This was quick and easy to put together using My Mind's Eye, Hip-Hooray "Boy" Happy Birthday collection.  Between birthdays, Father's Day, EOY Teacher cards, graduations and invitation orders, June is a very busy month for me...as I am sure it is for all of us.  With such a busy month, using coordinating collections like this one works perfect for me...no stamping techniques involved nor taking time to coordinate papers!

I used pop-dots for the "happy birthday" banner.  I also cut apart one of the banners from the collection and added letter stickers for the birthday boy's name.

I added the number 3 to one of the pop-outs from the accessory sheet.

I loved the vibrant colors of this collection.  It was perfect for a kid's birthday card or scrapbook layout so don't be surprised if you see this collection again, I truly fell in love with it!  :)

Birthday Card

Here is a card that I made for my sister-in-law for her birthday.  This paper is from My Mind's Eye, Lost and Found collection (Portobello Buddies).  I love this paper so much that I had a hard time cutting it up...good thing I bought 3 sheets of it!  :)

Sentiment is from Little Yellow Bicycle, Friends stamp set.  I love the distressed look of this set.

Tried to offset all that glitter with some bling.  Picture doesn't do justice, but it turned out really nice.
