Project Life - New Years Eve/Day

I always start my project life albums with a New Year's Eve and New Year's day layout. These two pages follow my title page and then for the rest of my album, it's pretty much a month in review versus a picture a day approach. These are my 2013 pages for those days.

I try to keep my pages simple and clean while keeping the focus on the photos. That's my traditional scrapbooking approach and I hope to do the same with this digital version.

Deepest Sympathy

Kara from KandRDesigns is hosting a challenge to celebrate her 100th week of pinning to her Friday Inspiration File. The challenge is to create something based on a project in that file. There are lots of inspirational projects to choose from, however I chose to CASE this card by Deanna Jean from week 72.

Love the simplicity and crisp look of this card. Deanna's original was the perfect sympathy card. Check out Kara's file for some really great inspiration pieces!

This is the card that I made to play along with this week's Retro Sketches challenge. So many ideas came to mind when I saw this sketch, however I wanted to keep my card clean and simple as I needed this for a birthday boy.

Real Life 2013 Documented

First of all, Happy New Year my friends!

Secondly, I apologize to all my faithful followers for being absent on my blog. The end of 2012 got really out of control for me and after the passing of my grandmother I had absolutely no desire to create. I believe the last crafty thing that I did was creating her funeral programs and as you can imagine, that was not a fun project. I am slowly getting back my creative juices and by slowly...I mean very very slowly.

As I try to catch up on my 2012 project life which I have been doing in the traditional paper format, I plan to do 2013's album digitally. I find that I work faster digitally and I am hoping this will help me get caught up...OK, that might have been a big joke but I'm still hoping. :) I am also hoping to share more of my pages (unless they get too personal) as it will be easier for me to upload them digitally.
