A Very Merry Christmas

WOW, it feels like forever since I've posted here...life took me in all different directions over the last month or so.  I wanted to get back into the swing of things so I thought creating a card would help.  It's a very simple card but hopefully it'll get my creative juices going again.  I am playing along with this week's challenge from CAS(E) this Sketch blog.  Here is what I came up with...

Here is the photo of the sketch challenge:

Life is Good, CTS#4

I am loving these sketches from CAS(E) this Sketch challenge blog.  Here is the card that I made to play along with this week's challenge.  This was super easy to make as the pattern paper had the basic design of the sketch.  I had a hard time photographing this card and this is still not a good picture but here is my take on the sketch...

Sentiment is from Hero Arts/Studio Calico stamp set, Heydey Sentiments.

Here is a photo of the sketch challenge:

Get Well Soon, CTS#3

Here is the card that I made to play along with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I prefer to stamp the sentiment in black but this time decided to use the same ink as the flower.  Not sure how I feel about it but I am out of time so it will have to stay the way it is.

Here is a photo of the sketch challenge:

Thinking of You

This card was inspired by the October Sketch Challenge from Hero Arts.  Some of my favorite stamps are from Hero Arts, I just love the clean and crisp image I get from them.  This card is CAS and was super quick to make.

My color inspiration came from this photo by Jay Gee's Nook, challenge #24.

Fabulous Day, CTS#2

This card was inspired by this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I am loving the simplicity of these sketches, they are perfect for CAS cards. So many ideas came to mind for this sketch but unfortunately I didn't have much time to create...so, you might see more of this sketch in the future.  :)

Sentiment is from Hero Arts and the flower is from K&Company.

Here is a photo of the sketch challenge.  I will also enter this into A Blog Named Hero, CAS challenge as well as CAS-ual Fridays, Over the Edge challenge.

Happy Birthday, CTS#1

Here is a quick card to play along with the new challenge blog CAS(E) this Sketch.  Besides being crazy busy with the usual, I have been busy trying to catch up on my Project Life.  Yep, I am way behind and trying to get caught up (somewhat) before the craziness of the holidays take over!    Wish me luck...

Sentiment is from Close to My Heart, I love that stamp set...as you can probably tell! :)

Happy Birthday, Craft Dash #4

Playing along with the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge again.  This is such a fun challenge and it forces me to create simple cards and to not over think the process.  Not that I am guilty of doing that!  :)  This card took me 9:50 minutes to create.

Sentiment is from Close to My Heart and DP is from October Afternoon, Rocket Age collection.

Thank You for your Friendship

I decided to challenge myself again with the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge.  I had a lot of fun creating last week's card with my niece and I wanted to see if it was possible to do this on my own.  The colors for this week's card was a bit of a challenge for me but I decided with only 10 minutes, this card would have to be super simple.  I used the sketch from last week's Clean and Simple Stamping challenge and this card took me 9:01 minutes to create.

   Sentiment if from Hero Arts.

Congrats, CFC70

Here is a card that I made to play along with this week's CAS-USUAL Fridays challenge.  This is for a friend's engagement party this weekend and I kept it simple yet bold.  I love the boldness of this stamp and it's becoming my go to stamp for weddings and engagements.

Sentiment is from PTI, Think Big Favorite #5 stamp set which is stamped and embossed on to vellum.

10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge

So I decided to try this week's 10 minute craft dash challenge from the Pretty Pink Posh blog.  Instead of doing homework my niece Neena decided she wanted to help me.  Before you know it, she was looking through my craft area, she chose to use washi tape and was holding them up to the computer screen to make sure she had the right colors.  She also decided that it would be cool to create a banner like Paulina did on her challenge image.  Even though that's a popular design, I decided to humor her and went along for the ride.

9:58 minutes later, here is what we ended up with:

Sentiment is from Close to My Heart, Birthday Chatter.  To save time we adhered the washi tape to paper, added a fish tail and then used dimensional adhesive to pop them up.  That was faster for me than wrapping the washi tape around the floss...go figure.

Thank you Neena for helping with this card!  You are pretty creative but now you have to get back to homework!

Happy Birthday, Mojo258

Here is a birthday card that I made using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.  I rarely make a card without a sentiment on the front, so it took me a while to convince myself that it was perfectly ok without one.  I tried, but this card just looked better without it.  I did stamp a birthday greeting on the inside of the card.

Here is a photo of the sketch from Mojo Monday:

Happy Birthday, CFC69

This week's CAS-USUAL Fridays challenge is to create a CAS project using embossing.  I am always out of birthday cards (more like I wait till the last minute to make them) so I thought I'd play along in hopes of slowly building a stash of "go-to" cards.  Here is a simple birthday card I created for this challenge...

Sentiment is from PTI; Signature Greetings II stamp set.

Happy Birthday Sumitra!

Happy Birthday Sumitra!  I still can't comprehend how this happened so fast, but my daughter is now 14 and in High School!  To say that I am having a hard time with this is an understatement.

Here is the card that I made for her birthday.  I kept it simple while using her favorite colors, green and black!

Die cut and Happy Birthday sentiment are from PTI's Shutterbug Special collection and definition sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Money Holder Birthday Card

Here is a money holder birthday card that I made for my son to give to his friend.  The money holder is a Silhouette America image that can be downloaded into different denominations.  Each denomination has a different cut that coordinates with the different faces of the bill.  I downloaded the $20 and $50 images, which gives me the flexibility to gift any amount over those amounts behind the top facing bill...hope that makes sense.  This was a super simple, no fuss, quick to make card!  :)

I adhered the money holder to the base of my card which gives me (or my son) a place to write a greeting to the recipient.

Here is what the inside of the money holder looks like.

Happy Birthday, CSC104!

I was torn between two designers when I first played along with this week's challenge from CASE Study. I made this card the same night as I did the first one, but never got the chance to photograph it till now. The second Designer I chose to CASE is Aimes from Crafting Confessions.  Her work is very crisp, clean and simple.

I think I was drawn to this card because of the eyelets...it felt like forever since I last used them!  Sentiment is from PTI - Think Big Favorites #12.

Here is a photo of the original card:
Father

40 Amazing Years, CSC104

My husband needed a birthday card for someone at work today but didn't tell me till last night!  Since I didn't get to craft nor blog much this summer, I decided to challenge myself to a quick card hoping it'll get my "creative juices" going again.  This week's challenge at CASE Study is to CASE a card from any of the Design Team members.  They are all so talented how do you choose just one...that in itself was a challenge!

I chose to CASE Debby Hughes from Lime Doodle.  I love her CAS style and her work is simply brilliant!

Embossing folder, die and sentiment are all from PTI's By the Numbers impression plate and die collection along with Big Birthday Wishes stamp set.

Here is Debby's Original card:

The Best Dad in the World!

Here is the card that I made for my kids to give to dad for his birthday.  Super simple, quick and easy with no stamping involved, yet it was still a fun card to create.  :)

Each layer is adhered with dimensional adhesive and the second layer is embossed with PTI's Linen and Canvas impression plate.  The sentiment is from The Guy Stack collection from DCWV.

I will enter this card into this week's The Paper Players challenge, using the middle row across.

Happy Birthday!

It's my husband's birthday!!!  Happy Birthday Honey...wishing you many happy returns of the day!  :)

It's been a busy summer and I haven't had any time to craft nor view other blogs.  School reopens in a couple of weeks so hopefully I'll have more time then.  Here is the card that I made for my husband's birthday.

I used PTI's Shutterbug Special die and stamp set.  The camera is stamped twice and then adhered with dimensional adhesive.  I added the brad to the lens of the camera which is also adhered with dimensional adhesive.

Here is what the card looks like with the insert pushed back into the camera:

Happy Birthday, SYS Day 1

OK, I am not sure how everyone else is doing it but I can hardly find time to craft this summer.  I am completely enjoying my time with the kids so I am not in the least bit complaining!  I am taking the Stretch your Stamps online card class and finally made this card for day 1...we are on day 5 as of today!

I used the embossed resist technique and then inked the background with distressed ink.

Hope everyone is having an amazing summer, creating lots of memories to cherish for a lifetime! :)

Dude You Rock!

This is the card that I made for my daughter to give to Ajay for his birthday.  My inspiration came from Hero Arts, June 2012 sketches.  Super simple card to make and this sentiment was perfect from a sister to a brother.  He loved it...

Sentiment is from PTI, Signature Greetings stamp set.

It's Time to Celebrate 12!

Happy Birthday Ajay!  Sadly, my babies are no longer babies...where does the time go?

Here is the card that I made for my son's birthday.  I used the same collection from Simple Stories that I used for Father's Day.  Ajay always wants the same things that his dad has, so it was only fitting to make him a similar type card.  He was super happy when he opened this card, even mentioning that it was just like dad's!

I added twine, stamped the sentiment "It's time to Celebrate", and added the two banners with the number 12 and this card was done!

Dad UR 1 of-a-Kind!

Here is the card that I made for my kids to give to their dad for Father's Day.  They wanted a card that wasn't too "serious" and that defines who he is.

I was drawn to this DP from Simple Stories which had the definition of the words Strong, Adventurous and Awesome printed on it.  This truly defines my husband and so half the work was already done for me.  :)

I added magic mesh, twine and a button to the left side and brads to the middle of the stars.  The letter stickers "dad" and "1 of-a-kind" (which is adhered with pop dots) are also from Simple Stories.

I will enter this card into this week's Retro Sketches challenge #16.  Hope all the dads in your life had a great Father's Day!  :)

It's Your Day!

Here is the card that I made for my dad for Father's Day.  I played along with this week's challenge from Freshly Made Sketches, challenge #39.  I kept this card clean and simple and purposely didn't use a "Father's Day" sentiment.

Sentiment is from PTI, Think Big Favorites #2.

Here is a photo of the sketch challenge:

Congratulations Graduate

Summer is here and life is getting more hectic than usual.  Definitely not complaining as I am completely enjoying this time with the kids.  :)  Hope everyone is enjoying their summer as well.

Here is a graduation card that I made but never got the chance to post it.

DP is from DCWV, Hittin' the Books stack and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.  Graduation cap is a die cut from the Silhouette store and I made the tassel from twine and attached it with a brad.

Celebrate!

Here is a birthday card that I made to play along with this week's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #62.  I love Iwona's Saturday sketches, I wish I had time to play along more often.

The flower is a die cut from the Silhouette store and the DP is from MME Lost and Found, Rosy collection.  I added green glitter to the paper to mimic the brad on the flower which is from that same collection.

Here is a photo of the sketch:

Happy Birthday with Washi Tape

Here is a birthday card that I made for my son's friend, Daniel.  I wasn't sure where I was going with this card with the exception that I planned on keeping it simple along with using washi tape.  Even though his party is today, I circled his actual birthday on the calendar washi tape.

Sentiment is from PTI's Big Birthday Wishes and calendar washi tape is from my Smash collection.
